If you are a first time home buyer you may be entitled to an $8,000 tax credit that can be taken this year when you file your taxes.  H R 1, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, has been extended until April 30, 2010, and the credit has been expanded to grant up to $6,500 to current home owners purchasing a new or existing home between November 7, 2009 and April 30, 2010.  Please read about the act: HR 1 Act.  Click here to download 5405 tax credit forms."
